Why you still need a LinkedIn account
While there are numerous sub-networks sprouting up on Facebook for professionals, and even a network of professional "pages", there are a few reasons you might still want to consider having a separate professional profile.
- It keeps your business and personal life even more separated
- There are more recruiters and job postings there
- You can give and receive recommendations
- Etc., etc.

It is interesting, however, that Facebook is making a concerted effort to gear towards front-facing careers. Seems everyone I know now that has a personality-based job (politicians, writers, on-air personalities) is getting a Facebook Page. I doubt it means they'll abandon their LinkedIn profile - since Facebook is more for 'fans' and LinkedIn for jobs - but it's still a weird development.
